Gee Boyd, you certainly seem to have things that go "BOOM" on your mind.[;)]

Actually I think they did #6 a few years ago, or something similar. Nuclear material is nothing new to Lionel

#10 they do make scented smoke fluid, and if I'm not mistaken diesel and coal are available.

I believe Walthers has a kit called "Wicked Wanda's" for the HO market, so #5 is closer to reality than you think.

#8 is interesting, because Tyco and Aurora used to make a grade crossing accessory for HO trains and slotcars. Ultimately they were pulled from the market, as they were considered to be a bad influence for "teaching" train racing. I remember having hours of fun at a friend's house when I was a kid. He had the Aurora setup, and we had plenty of near misses and crashes. Guess what, I've never done it in real life, not after driver's ed.

#7 should be called the "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" after the movie from the eayly 70's by that name. That may have been the first time that stunt was performed in Hollywood. It has been used in a number of movies since, including one of my favorites "Used Cars".

1. Combination 1800s train robbery and track being blown up. An accessory like this "could" be made,, robbers on horses going along the track. But making a plastic guy get onto the train from his horse would be hard to make. The blowing up track could work and be made to just reset into place for re-use but then your train would get all scratched up in the derailment. Darn!

2. The Adams family 2 trains hit head on. This one could be done but some government agency might not want an engine that catches on fire after each head-on.

3. Bottle rocket firing flat car. This one also "could" really be manufactured but little Billy might get in trouble crossing state lines to get more bottle rockets for his favorite new accessory.

4. Flooded track washout. Maybe at one of the Lionel parties after a few drinks one of the designers might have thought of this one. Hookup the garden hose and "hey look mom the engine is sinking" as the water starts to drip through the floor and into the basement.

5. The brothel house. This one would have to be south of the tracks on a back road behind the scrap yard. Beads hanging from the doors, a locked front door and a pop open slot on the back door so they can look out and make sure its not one of the cops coming for a visit.

6. Nuclear power plant with melt down warning lights and alarm bells. Alternate use, little Billy can lift the roof off the big building to reheat leftovers from the night before.

7. RR crossing road jump. The recreation of how easy it is to concurrently get lots of fun and destroy the suspension in your car (model car that is) at the same time.

8. Honey I can beat the train,, diagonal RR crossing on a county road. See how fast those AFX slot cars can really go or how smashed up it can be after being run over by a DD40x.

9. ICBM missile box car. From the idea Ronald Reagan came up with in the 80s. A good way to easily make a sky light in the living room.

10. Real diesel exhaust: Make that new SD70M as real as can be while getting a headache. No need to do any weathering on your train collection but a good excuse to buy a carpet cleaner.

Modeling the "Fargo Area Rapid Transit" in O scale 3 rail.
