Has anyone tried JT Mega Steam smoke fluid? If so, what do you think of it?

IT's Great

All that I have used for the past year

And the good thing is that it doesn't stay in the air very long after the train goes by.

I am a person with a very active inner child. This is why my wife loves me so. Willoughby, Ohio - the home of the CP & E RR. OTTS Founder www.spankybird.shutterfly.com

I've been using it for about three years now, since JT's Mega-Steam was just a guy selling three scents of smoke fluid on Ebay. I love it.

I'm crazy about it too ! I use the "Frying Bacon" in my K-line diner. It makes my basement smell real good, plus on weekends my wife knows I'm ready for breakfeast then ! [:D] [#welcome] And welcome to the forum, Jim ! Thanks, John

Just don't ever put it in a Suethe smoke unit. I can attest it will never work again.

This happened before some great articles a year or so ago in OGR where I learned each type of smoke unit requires a certain type of oil and it can be harmful to use the wrong mineral oil fluid (some are lighter in density than others - JTs is a heavier density).

I had a less than satisfactory experience with the product. Lionel fluid actually works better in my locos, so that's what I use.

Best stuff I ever used and a delightful scent that even my wife likes.

I bought some for the first time at York, last month, and am very impressed.

Mega Steam seems to put out at least 25% more smoke than MTH, Lionel and K-Line smoke fluid in all my locos.

I bought the original Cedar scent, which smells great.

I like the eye dropper that comes with it too.

I use Baking Bread in my steamers, and Cranberry Woods in my diesels.

I don't get complaints from the wife anymore, while the pleasant smell covers up for her dog with the urinary tract problem.

After visiting someone's layout that used JT Mega Steam smoke fluid for their trains, I picked up my first set of Mega Steam smoke fluid (Steam, Coal, two Christmas Scents) at York. Previously, I only used MTH or lionel smoke fluid. The MTH fluid was hard to judge how much you are putting in the engine and it can easily spill all over the diesel engines. It appears to me the JT Mega smoke fluid puts out more and it does not linger around the house as much as MTHs.
