Thanks. It's about 11.5 feet long and sturdy enough to stand on (but not jump up and down on). It will have cedar paneling sides and is just in rough form right now and the square end where trains enter will be about 18 inches higher. I'll keep updating the project w/photos.

Thanks for the info. There's a toad in the backyard that will probably take up residence under the warehouse once it gets emplaced. The toad and BB are friends.

Paul, that's a neat toy train you got there with the Marx stuff. Been a long time since I've seen anything like that.

David, looks like BB's train warehouse sun perch is coming along fine.
You could think about using a polymerized (plastic added) leveling compund that I used to seal a bathroom (before putting in a vinyl or tile floor) floor after some repairs for a leaky toilet flange seal for your sealer on the concrete block.
It comes in powder and you mix it with water. (What I used was a medium blue color and I can't remember the name.)
It's paintable and waterproof and is made to go over wood floors that are going to have tile mastic applied for the tile or wet areas for vinyl flooring to seal the seams in the plywood. it's a lot more durable than what is used by installsers for standard vinyl flooring.

A few words of caution.

I'd apply it with a small toothed grout trowel with all the blocks on level and firm surface covered with plastic pushed together to try and cover as many of one side as quickly as possible.because you have obout 2-25 0 minutes of working time.
Use small disposable plastic buckets seeing how you'll probably have to seal the block in 4 steps.
Do any sanding to the surface applied after an hour casue you'll be using a grinder and 80 grit to do it after that. Be sure to wear a dust mask.
You can also use a stiff stucco brush dipped in a thin mixture and sling the drops on the surface if you choose to give it a stucco look before painting.
You can by it at the Home Depot asn isn't too costly.

Well, in 2 days, went from nothing to something anyway.

Here's my partially constructed outdoor warehouse made of cedar (smells good).

My tallest car, a TOFC, passes thru with half inch to spare (5” clearance). Stained cedar with Redwood Stain. Outside will be Honey color Thompson Water Seal and Cedar stain for windows and doors (not yet emplaced). Room inside for 3 tracks and LONG trains.

The square structure entrance isn't done and will be about 18 inches higher and cedar planked like Richard Smith's. I'm gonna copy all his trim probably pretty closely. I don't know how he made the lettering tho. Maybe I can burn the lettering in w/soldering Iron?

Also, I purchased concrete blocks for the lower cedar plank to rest on but the concrete REALLY held moisture and I need a recommendation on something to seal it.

My next door buddy said to just forget the block and spray car undercoating under the entire caboodle.



Decided to make the Roof a single entity. Cedar is so LIGHT that I'm just going to put it on without hinges. Easy to pick up and likely won't need too much. There's plenty of ventilation under the roof eaves on both sides.

Transformer and electronical gear will be held in the square unfinished portion.

Will name the whole thing the Topeka Building Supply Co. and there will be a variety of produce, from wood to pipes to other stuff. The whole kaboodle is nearly 12 feet long and since I'm doing O scale, I'll get twice the train as G. And, the length is fairly prototypical.



The 3-M skateboard and step non-skid stuff works like charm and looks and feel like the real deal. Just don't let 2 pieces accidentally stick together. IMPOSSIBLE to unstuck em. Here, shows how I'm overlapping the layers in uncompleted portion.



BB the beagle scopes out the partially completed work. When it goes outside, she'll sunbathe on it like Snoopy cartoon.

Colin - is that model of Cannon camera a digital camera? if not they you have to scan the prints or have a photo lab convert them to digital.
