KMT Diesel
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 27, 2005 9:54 AM
Hi:

I'm new to forum and to hobby. Restoring (amatuer) some MARX and Lionel stuff.

recently got a couple of KMT trains......an excellent Burlington and the space exploration train. The space train diesel has a couple of broken and missing parts (intermediate rear motor housing/transfer gear [plastc, broken], and the front contact spreader post and spring [missing]). For the life of me, I can find no one even talking about these, let alone used parts, info, etc. Any help here???????????? Links????? KMT forum???

Thanks.

eBay had 58 items listed for "KMT", most of them trains. Perhaps you can get a lead on the KMT parts you need from someone selling there:

Hello and welcome Jack,
If you're looking for body parts. You might take a close look at some of the 027 (Train 99) Kline trains. I believe the Alco FA was made using the KMT/Kusan molds. It might offer a way to repower if the need be. The 027 caboose was too. Kline also used orginal Marx tooing as well. As mention earlier Ebay is a very good souce.
I remember Kusan's space train. My next door neighbor had one. It was fun to watch.
