Hello Cade! If your Great Northern has diecast trucks then it was made in 1956-57. If it has the plastic trucks on it then it was made in 1966 only.Your Boxcar does indeed sound like a keeper. For more information on your trains check out : www.postwarlionel.com and you can look up individual engines, freight cars, passenger cars, signals, and lights. Take care.

The 6464-397 should have sprung trucks as it was made in 1997. The 6464-450 is the post war version and its sides have three horizontal colors, green-orange-green. The 6464-397 has two colors, orange over green. For more info check out the TCA site http://tcamembers.org/articles/collecting/6464chart/6464chart_notes.html

SPFan is correct. A nice car, but only worth maybe $40 tops. Made in 1997.

Hi CADE & welcome to the forum ! Last year I did the same thing, switched back to trains. I only miss the excersize I used to get walking in the woods, with a garbage bag, looking for the lost ones ! [:D] Thanks, John
