Vern - if you know how to copy and paste try this. There is no picture in this post because I didn't
put img in brackets [ ] at the beginning of the URL below and I didn't put /img in brackets [ ] at the end of it.

Copy the URL below and paste it in your new post BUT put the img in brackets immediately in front of it -NO SPACES, and /img in brackets immediately following it - NO SPACES.

Then click the "Preview Reply" gray box and you should see the image...

spankybird: Maybe I am making this picture posting more difficult than it actually is, but I still don't understand WHERE to type in this [img] thing.

OK, when you are in Shutterfly and have your pic showing:
1. place your mouse arrow over your pic and Right click the mouse
2. This will bring up the "List of properities" like so

Then Click on "properities"

3. Place your pointer at the begining of the address (http) and right mouse button and HOLD it as you drag it accros both lines of the address.

Once you have it highlighted, place your arrow over the highlighted area and right click again and select 'Copy'

You know have the address copied to you clipboard,

When you are doing your posting and type in the [ img ] right click your mouse and slecet 'Past' then finish with [ /img ]

(note that I put extra spaces between the [ ] and img so it will show up here.)

hope this helps you.

Maybe I didn't make myself all that clear. Where is this bracket thing and how do I use it? I already have a picture uploaded on Shutterfly and I think I can highlight it. I need help in copying and pasting ( I think that is the correct term) to it the CTT Forum. I am using Internet Explorer and a PC not a MAC.

HI Vern,

Just so that I understand where you are at and how far you got,

1. do you understand up loading your pics to your host (like Shutterfly) [?]
2. Are you using Microsoft internet explorer (the Big E) [?]
3. Did you understand the properties menu and copying the URL address [?]

If So then the rest is simple.

The URL address (code) is the forums way of seeing your pic. If you were to open another window of explore and copy your pic’s URL address to the address line and hit enter, you would see your pic.

So place the URL address between the brackets [ img ] and [ /img ] where you would want your pic to appear in your posting. If you use a return after your coding, then your text will appear on the line below your pic.

Here is a couple URL address for pics of mine

http://204.156.4.220/memberpages2/images/IMGP0274s.JPG

which is this pic

and here is one from Shutterfly

and here is this pic

hope this helps

Posted by Anonymous on Monday, October 17, 2005 5:12 PM
I hope someone out there can help me. I got to the part in the instructions for posting pictures where I am told; The actual posting format is:
[img]photograph's address code[ /img]. I have no idea what this is, how to use it, where to use it or anything else about it. Not being very computer literate, I need any and all the help I can get also detailed instructions.
