Well, now that York is over I can get busy on my Christmas 2005 layout. But, one last sendoff to a FUN 2004 Christmas layout:

And one last shot of the sketch:

Gentlement!

I am not a toy train enthusiast nor a model one either. However, in browsing the forums this day I noticed the photographs and commend those of you for your work. Nicely done!

Siberianmo, I know those bars! I have visited your photo album and must commend you for the effort you put forth with your three different scales in model railroading and toy trains. Amazing stuff.

Buckeye, you have added a lot since I visited Buckeye Railroad. OH, I hear that Baby Buckeye is getting Polar Express add on cars. OH, that is a secret. [:I]

Frank, great looking night club. Looks like you could "just walk right in and sit right down".

John, you laid your track on stone. Bet that does not move. You anchor it with plastic anchors and screws?

Good pictures from all. [:)]

Highrail, a great start.

Here's a web site that you may find helpful.

http://www.btcomm.com/trains/primer/roadbed/ladder1.htm

For some strange reason, Columbus, Ohio is a hot bed of Garden RR. (It may be connected to our German heritage.) There used to be a big layout at the State Fair. Fair managment, that has since ben fired, ran off all the model train exhibits, but now our Easton Towne Plaza has a huge layout constructed by the people mentioned in the web page above. The layout pictured on the web page is at Franklin Park.

thanks buckeye,
i have a little thought put into what i want to buy. I was ant Nicholas Smith yesterday, and they have the MTH gauge 1 NS dash 8 that i have had my eyes in for a while. It is the best price i have seen so far $400.00. If i go with that, i will same all of my money from caddying to purchase DCS and then get the engine for Christmas, and some cars. It would look out of scale with my 1:29 scale cars. The MTH model is 1:32

hey guys great photos. Buckeye, the drovers caboose is an LGB model, right? I was looking at a PRR mogul from LGB, but they are wayyyyyyy tooooo much. If i could afford it, i would buy it and letter the drovers caboose in the PRR roadname.

Colin,
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, that is a LGB Drovers Caboose. You might want to take a look at this LGB Pennsylvania set
http://www.davistrains.com/search/displayproduct.asp?id=21197&mfgid=29&gaugeid=2&roadid=16&catid=-1&perpage=25&orderby=sku&skusearch=&keyword=
I have seen "shortys" at shows and they look real nice. Ask if the engine has sound tripped by the magnets on the track. If not ask if there is an LGB sound kit. [:)]

Done for the season.

As many of you know that have been on the forum since spring, I arrived home from fishing in Canada to find my Garden Railroad buried beneath a 75’ Hickory Tree. This is what I saw when the sun came up.

The railroad is done for the season and here are the photos as of today.

The next project will be the replacement of the elevated section with a wooden trestle.

The trolley and the train are now shuttling people to the weddings. We have many weddings, but most of the people are only two inches tall.

Clang-clang went the trolley. A trolley must have very clean track to operate properly outside.

My C&S Mogul was bought second hand and refurbished by LGB. It is a great engine. No complaints.

The Lodge’s guests arrive by train.

Getting ready for the pumpkin show. Those look like winners to me.

Hey, Chief, when are you going to get your boat out of my pond?

Jimmie D’s Grandpa watches as the Drover Car at the end of the train rounds the curve.

West end of layout with pond.

Control center. Notice the quick release for the red and black wires. Those connections are from Radio Shack and I think they are used for remote control cars. Needless to say, they have worked perfectly even in the rain and snow.

Now I start refurbishing the old Christmas Train Board for Baby Buckeye. [:D] BTW, for those that don't know, Baby Buckeye is my married daughter, 25 years old and has always had a train around the tree as she grew up. This year she has her own house and wants a train around the tree.

Great photos again for Halloween this year, Tom.
