Dear Admin...login trouble
Posted by IronHoarse on Thursday, September 29, 2005 2:46 PM

I have been unable to log in to this forum using my regular computer. I have deleted all cookies and temporary internet files and performed a system restore with no luck. I am able to log in with other computers however. Is it possible that this forum is blocking the IP address of my regular computer. I am also able to log in to other forums with no trouble. Hepp.

It seems that I can log in with a different username, but I would like to have my old one back.

Hurray!! I managed to log in. The only problem is that I have to un check the "Remember Me" box in order to log in even with my other username. Any Ideas?

I have it fixed now. Somehow my calendar got set to 2006. When I changed it back to 2005 the log in process started working right. If anyone else has trouble like this it very likely could be caused by your clock being set to a time in the future.

Something appears to be a bit screwed up. I just had to log in with my password again. Never had to do that in the past--as recently as earlier this evening.

Every so often, I have to log in with my password, too. It is very infrequent, but it happens.

You may have lost your cookie. [:0][;)]It happens to me too, though very infrequently.

Generally this site is very safe and stable, and technical difficulties are on the user's end. However, figuring out what the exact problem is, can be frustrating.

I have noticed that about once a month, I have to log in with my password. It acts like the web page (or maybe my auto updates for viruses and firewall) resets the cookies on a regular basis.

My Spam/Popup/Cookie Blocker recently reset several of my sites I visit. Had to go in and "allow" the cookies. I also see the same thing about once a month. Working from a different computer [like when I travel] will do the same.

I asked Fire Team Bergstrom to fix this yesterday - so he either did, or the problem fixed itself ...

Was the forum locked and all the posts too. Was it just my computer? Was the forum under construction?

Scoobster -

Several of the forums were down over the weekend due to some problems with trolls. They came back up this morning.

No, not a stupid question. The trolls went from being a nuisance to being vulgar. There were three or four working together, starting several crude threads, and insulting forumites in general. Very immature and stupid behavior. Our valiant webmasters made the wise choice of shutting down the affected forums over the weekend, allowing a "cooling down" period and time to get rid of the trolls.
