Lift system for a garage layout.

I came across this lift system in a magazine. It's on the pricey side but I'm sure it's sturdy and durable. Could solve the layout space problem for someone, or perhaps give ideas for fabricating your own.

[2c] Regarding lift systems:

I purchased a 4-point hoist system from Harken - check out:
http://www.hoister.com/default.php
click on Selection guide for the models carried.

I constructed an S-gauge layout in the storage room of my basement - check out:

go to pages 5 & 6

Anything that works is all that matters when it comes to finding space for model and toy trains!

The way my wife drives that lift system in our garage wouldn't stand a chance. [:o)]

Target Stores in this area are selling something that might just work for a train layout. They have a bicycle lift system for sale. The bike is hooked on to the lift at the handle bars and the seat and then raised using the rope provided. The bike goes to the ceiling nice and level. There is a safety catch that keeps the bike from falling to the ground if you let go of the rope.

I could see using two of these lifes and longer rope to lift a good sized train board.[^]

Harbor Freight has a special for garage lifters until 26 Sept. Can't recall the price but less than 200 and includes all the accourterments.
