Well, isnt it because thats where the trains collect the electricity Monto3

Heck, all us American Flyer guys have been asking that same question for years now...

I run 3 rail because it allows me to run vintage and modern trains. The old Hornby and Bassett Lowke locomotives still look great in my eyes and now with Ace Trains continuing the format things are looking very good. It was through this 3 rail love that eventually I came across Lionel. Add to this MTH, K-Line, Williams and new to me, 3rd Rail and I would have to say that theres never been a better time to enjoy trains old & new.

Oh, and one other point, down at my local O-Gauge Guild exhibitions nothing runs more reliably than 3 rail, the simple electrics just keep on going.
