Jerry, it's on it's way. The postman said 2 days, so maybe Friday, Monday for sure. I didn't get to the post office until after 4. By the way, it ain't cheap sending trains through the mail.[;)] But as before, it's my pleasure.

Daan, this isn't so much an apology as it is an attempt to steer Jerry in a slightly different direction. I want him to get experience, and have fun without the pressure of the expectations of customers hanging over him. It was only a little more than a year ago that he came to the forum asking questions. That strikes me as an awfully short time to have learned enough to work for others.

I must say that it does make me feel good to take a train with little financial value, and send it off to further what I consider a most worthy cause, the education of a young train enthusiast.

Jim, that is a modern Lionel PWC set with TMCC. I don't know yet how to fix these modern locomotives yet. I in fact hav't even seen the guts of a modern locomotives yet! I would like to help him though.

Bigboy, I must say that it really amazes me how you make your "appologies". It's a very kind and good way, something I've never seen before on any forum or club. It is something you'll have my respect for in any way and I hope you'll be an example for other ones. These actions keep the Forum a nice place to come!! Good work.

I think the only thing missing is a single screw, but it's a common one. All of the side rods and shoulder and unusual screws are there. I had to find my repair manual, just to make sure I was giving you the right pieces, as parts from a dozen engines were all mixed together, including at least three 2035's.

Same address as before Jerry? I'll try to get it packed and sent this week, maybe as early as tomorrow.

That looks like a rather easy fix, at least to me. All the major componets are there. Im betting some minor parts will be missing. I will post pictures when it is assmbled and rejuvinated!

As many of you know, our young friend Jerrylovestrains wants to start his own repair business. I wasn't very keen on this idea for a number of reasons, and came down rather hard on him. Some people criticized me for my comments, but some found at least some merit, though they may not have agreed with my tone.

In my second post, I defended my my position, but lightened up considerably, and in the process, made Jerry an offer. So here it is, a complete 2035 with a whistle tender. All of the parts appear to be serviceable, though I haven't tested it. It was one of the locomotives that was used at enterTRAINment, which is why it was gutted. We ran it on DC, forward only, no smoke or whistle.

I never said it was pretty. It is about one step up from junk status, but could be given a new lease on life with some TLC.



It needs to be cleaned, rewired, and reassembled. This project is something of a puzzle and a test, and should be able to be done with the tools Jerry listed, no press or wheel puller required.

So Jerry, as long as your parents approve, it's your's to keep. I still have your address from the last care package. I'm also including a second item. A very common piece, that will need a couple of parts to be complete. This will be a much more difficult task (at least I think so). Under normal circumstances, it does require a press, though with a little creativity, you may be able to fix it using other tools.
