Lenght of a Lionel 773
Posted by jwright01 on Thursday, August 11, 2005 7:27 PM
Does anyone know the lenght of the engine & tender of the Lionel 773 Hudson? Instead of paying a lot of money on an original I was thinking of getting a K-Line version but I was not sure if the 24 inch scale version or the 20 inch semi-scale version was closer to the 773.

I make it to be 23 inches, from the tip of the cowcatcher to the pulling face of the 2426W tender's coupler. I don't know what it would be with the 736W tender; but it looks only a little shorter in the Greenburg book, may be a half-inch. For the locomotive alone, I measure 13 1/2 inches to the coupler and 14 inches to the cab overhang.
