Roller Pin Loose, What should I do?
Posted by jimhaleyscomet on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 7:46 AM
I have an roller pin loose on my locomotive. I pushed it back in but it just falls out again. Can I repair it or should I just purchase and install a new roller pickup assembly?

Jim,
You can fix the pick-up roller by soldering the pin head to the bracket. Put a small amount of flux on the pin head and bracket and then use a hot iron and 50/50 solder.

ChiefEagles,

I usually check to see if I can help a few times a day if I'm home. Most problems are solved by the time I see them. I'm kept pretty busy fixing Sommerfeld's electronic train problems or upgrading engines, etc.

Thanks again,

*** Teal
