Thank you so very much Mike for leading me to that group. I signed on, so am waiting to get accepted. I also tried the link to the last post you sent me. Sorry to say it did not work. I would have loved to have seen that.

SAKAIS' Model Train
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, July 3, 2005 10:02 PM
I have a question for the trains buffs. First of all, I am so happy to find a place where I can ask this question. Can anyone in train land help me determine how old the train set below is? I would really appreciate it.

We recently found a box in my late father's attic that contained a model train in it.
This is all the information I have found on the train. There is a piece of cardboard that has this written on it.... "SAKAIS' Standard Model Rail-way. The transformer box has some Japanese lettering on it and then 2 T.M.Y. Everything is in immaculate condition. It has an engine with the number H315 on it. It also has three passenger cars and a coal car (315 Tender) on it. The set contains a whole set of tracks and two railroad light poles. The tracks look a bit oxidized with age. I have no clue as to how old this set is, but the cars are wrapped in newspaper dated June 5, 1953.
Thank you for all your help. Dodie
