Plasticville Garage Sale Find
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 10:25 PM
I seldom find 0 gauge trains or train stuff at garage sales. But my wife spotted an apple box full of "plastic toys" that I jumped at for a roaring $2 and all Plasticville.

Well I had fun sorting them out as only three were in original boxes and the rest were just stacks of roofs, walls etc. I finally got them sorted and have 23 0 & S gauge buildings and none glued! Favorites are airport building (#1), hospital, airport hanger, cathedral, all-american turnpike, town hall (needs top part), Union Station, and Frosty Bar.
Also got 15 plasticville people.

Top the day off I picked up a pair of Realistic Mach Two stereo speakers with 15" woofers and walnut veneer in great shape for $4, lady insisted I take them home! Vintage stereo is a new hobby for me and been lucky lately with many folks going to home theater systems.

Its good days like this that keep me going to the sales. I see mostly HO stuff around here tough.

Great find Charlie. I usually don't visit yard sales because, as you said, trains are usually HO and fishing rods and reels are Zebco plastics.

And what's wrong with a Zebco plastic reel? [:D]

Charlie - congrats on a great find!

I'd very quitely pay for it and leave. Probably not. I would ask if they knew how much this is worth.

Wow! That is an absolutely incredible find! I'm sure they'll look fantastic on your layout. You should have asked if they by chance had some trains that were used with them originally. I haven't been that lucky at garage sales, but I have made some good finds. See my "It's Garage Sale Season!" thread.
