Williams humm on TMCC conventional

The current CTT test of the Williams Alco Anniversary set indicates there was a humm sound when operated on TMCC conventional. I assume they were using a new ZW. This was not present on a postwar LW or Z4000. My question is, would it be present with a postwar ZW and a TPC400. Can you use a postwar ZW and a TPC together. My other question is how good are the Z4000 for conventional control and reliability. I have a lot of Williams locomotives but no layout yet. Just want to know what is the best transformer to buy. Thanks
