I want to second the thanks for the article. I put the lights in a 16003 observation too, and after seein the results I am now putting them in all of my observations and also other cars. By the way, the LEDs are available on EBAY for a very good price, less than .15 each. The delivery of them was very fast too. Am now experimenting with some flashing LEDs.

Hey John! Glad it worked for ya...now if we could just get Bob to take some pics of his layout (he worked a loooong time to get it cleaned up...wink) I'll be glad to post them on the forum.

Now I can tell you a secret - I didn't cut off the ends of the LEDs either...HA!
Small Layouts are cool! Low post counts are even more cool! NO GRITS in my pot!!!

I just want to thank you for your posting March 6,2005 about wiring red LED lights to the rear of the train. I did it to my PRR observation car (16003) side lights and it looks great. I did not take off the ends of the LED though. Again thank you very much.

John
