One of the ones that you listed is a full scale model of a USRA Mallet. I couldn't find the other one you listed, but I assume that it's probably a Lionmaster model.

Generally speaking, the Lionmaster models are shorter than full scale models, and have much, much less detail. Full scale models usually have a lot of separately applied detailing, which raises the price. They also usually use premium and more expensive to produced electronics, speakers, motors, and other parts.

How about a little help for a newbie to understand the price differences I see for articulated models starting in 2000. There seems to be a big diffrence in the models 28011 and 38012,however to me they seem about the same almost except for road names.
