Need help on railsounds lionel 763 hudson box#618056

Any one out there has had this problem,or knows whats wrong with my railsounds.This engine has set,not run from the time it was released.Now that I have tried to operate it no rail sounds. The engine works fine other wise ,just no rail sounds Lionel told me to replace the speaker and I did and it did not help,the battery is new. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Bob
