I'm not sure what a Disney trip has to do with this forum, but glad to hear you had a good time ( I love going to Disney World). I enjoyed York, and am still enjoying the $100. worth of stuff I bought, mostly scenic detail items. Joe

As has already been noted: Different strokes for different folks.

But I'll take York over just about any overpriced Disney-related activity (the current Disney, that is, not the original Disney of Walt's day).

But I'm glad Alan and his family had fun, and I'm glad those who went to York also had a great time.

Did Mickey let you drive the boat?

I haven't been to York in a while, but when I did go I always had a great time.

Well okay, Alan had fun on the Disney cruise and that's alright.

All things in perspective: if you go to YORK two times a year every year since whenever, sooner or later you are bound to not have as much fun. I've been a couple of times and it's a blast. If you've never been, you should go at least once just to experience it all. Even if I was going all the time, there is far more to life than just the YORK show... all things in perspective.

So now lets lear from some folks who did go to YORK and did have a good time. Any reports? What kind of new products did you see? Good crowds? New faces? More younger people this year? Speak to any company reps... what'd they have to say?

I guess in the grand scheme of things, folks do and participate in things that are important to them, like attending York. However, keeping ones' life in the proper balance is also important.

For me, going on a Disney Cruise ranks equal with me visiting the South Pole in Winter.

AlanR writes that at York, food is lousy and so are prices.

----------

Gee, now I may reconsider and take a trip to York next time. Lousy food means I won't overeat and lousy prices mean I'll save money and not have to buy a bunch of trains and can instead meet some nice folk from the forums and watch all of the exciting things.

THanks for the great tip!

Geez Alan, you had fun, the York folks had fun, why throw a wet towel on their party? Different strokes for different folks. I think the ideal vacation would the York weekend followed by a week of cruising on anything but a Disney boat....... see what I mean? Different strokes.....oh never mind.

YORK SCMORK. . . I was on a Disney Cruise - the Magic
Posted by AlanRail on Sunday, May 1, 2005 9:22 AM
Instead of York my family went on a seven-day Disney Cruise on the Disney Magic. We returned yesterday, and I didn't miss not going to York.

Every year about this time I have two choices and for the last four years I have chosen Disney over TCA. After I returned from York in years past, I always wondered why I ever went to York; nothing but... bad food, dirty rooms, lousy prices, nothing new! But each Disney Cruise gets better and better, I already miss Scoops and Palo, no to mention my own deck over-looking the ocean and great weather throughout.

Absolutely NO TRAINS. None on-board ship nor at the Keys, Grand Cayman, Cozumel or Castaway Cay.

York. . . . you have go to be kidding!
