All Non-Motorized Diesel-Units should be equipped with TMCC Boards or DSC PS 2.0 Boards so that the couplers will be operational in Command Mode. If the manufacturer is going to charge at that price level, these units must be properly equipped, especially seeing that it is a General Purpose Road Switcher.

Glad things worked out for you. I respect Atlas because of the faithful detailing they do; but $225 is definitely too much for a dummy for this dummy. Besides, the 60 model was made in the 1980s, which is later than the era I model.

I did notice that MTH also now has a nice SF GP-60 that is not priced too high.

I have done it!! I have sucessfully installed a lionel dummy upgrade kit in my Atlas GP60B. It was not easy though. If any one else buys one of these you can add a lionel 6-22962 gp9 b unit upgrade kit to your gp60b.I got mine mail order for $12.00. It adds directional lighting, the ability to be programed as in a lash up, and electrocouplers. The only thing I bought was four 16 volt lights and a grounding screw 2.6 mm. Good luck to anyone who has bought a a gp60b unit because you will need it.

I just recieved my brand new atlas GP60B. There were no instructions included. The unit is totally dead. There are no lights and the couplers are electric. For 225 dollars I expect more than this. It looks like there is a way to upgrade the dummy unit. All it can do is roll. I am disapointed in this item. I have a lionel b unit upgrade kit which I will install but I will have to rig it up. I am sure atlas or train america will offer some kind of upgrade kit. They should have at least had lights and conventional couplers installed on the unit.
