MTH Galloping Goose Questions

Just last night on pbs they featured "Trains of the American West." The Galloping Goose was on it and there is still one today they use for tourist rides. I believe it was used on a bankrupt narrow gauge line to service the towns on that line. It did look out of proportion. They were made from a hodge-podge array of any parts that could be found. Very interesting show.

These seem very out of scale to me but I have never seen the prototype. If anyone has what are your thoughts on this?

I have one. Don't operate it much, but it's a lot of fun! I don't think TMCC/railsounds have anything you could install that would come close what MTH has put into this model except for the advantage of TMCC controls. It's expensive, but I like the idea of using both TMCC and DCS together to benifit the best of both systems. I wi***here could be an easier solution.

I had two of them, but sold both a couple of years ago because they just didn't match the theme I had chosen to follow for my O gauge modeling. In retrospect, however, I wish I had kept them because both were pretty neat--and very distinctive--items. Both performed as advertised, and I had no tyrouble with them.

Do you have one and what do you think of it?
I was thinking of getting one, W/O PS, and upgrading to TMCC so I can run it at the same time as my other locos.
Anybody tried it?
What was the result?
