Service Lionel Polar Express Cars?

They come apart just like the MPC passenger cars.
You will notice on each side there are 2 windows that stick out a little further than the rest. Press in on these , they are directly opposite each other on the 2 sides. I then take a small jewelers screwdriver and lift the roof on one end of the car. Keep the screwdriver under the roof so it cannot go back down.
Then go to the other end and do the same. When all 4 of the windows are clear of the sides, the roof will slide right off with the frosted windows attached to it.

Have you tried the Lionel site? They have a specific section that has illustrated breakdowns and part numbers. It should provide enough info to allow you to open the car.

We had a little accident and the puppet car took a dive that looks like it bent the part the truck assembly rotates on. The problem is that I can't figure out how to take the car apart to get inside. Are these glued shut? I would think there would be a way in order to service the lights.
