Ok guys I'm going to purchase another set - I sold a few items on Ebay and I want to buy another set. The Wabash is getting hard to find and the Rio Grande is almost there. Which would you pick>>>>>

I had to make the same choice in December and I opted fot the Rio Grande set. I'm very happy with my choice, The yellow, silver, and black paint scheme looks terrific on the F-3's and the DRG caboose. In my opinion, the Rio Grande looks a lot flashier than the Wabash, but you'll have to make the call yourself.

I love post war. I would go Rio Grande if it was me, the Wabash appear to be somewhat bland in comparison to the bright Rio Grande.

Ok - I think I might just preorder the new Super Chief AA passenger set. I think its a bargain. After reflecting on Lionels catalogs of the past few years I can say that we are truly living in a new golden era for Lionel. Who would have thought 15 years ago that railsounds would be including in almost everything and TMCC would revolutionize the way we run trains. More importantly all of this technology in classic remakes of Postwar set???!!!! Does it get any better - I just wish I could afford them all!

I second your sentiment regarding Lionel's offerings of late. Great stuff, and something for everyone.

Personally, I'd vote for the Wabash set.

Yeah budget is a problem as always - I have noticed that the prices of the Rio Grande sets are going up in price. Anyone have all of these sets and have a favorite?

Hmmm....I'll take what's behind door number three! [:D]
My question is, which do YOU prefer? You'll be the one admiring it most.
I would choose the D&RGW only because my Aunt worked for them in Denver years ago. Collectablity isn't a big issue to me.

I'de personally go with the Wabash, too---but 1 look at my screen name would tell you my opinion would be a "gimme".LOL

I always was a sucker for the blue/white/gray Wabash colors...
