I verified the phasing and the hookup as you described. I may do like you andleve the train start / stop wiring off.

Do you have it wired correctly? The black, red, and green(through the toggle) wires should be connected to the "ground" i.e. outer rail connection, and yellow to the hot or center rail connection. If you're powering it from a separate transformer, make sure they're phased. If this isn't followed, the train won't run at all in the isolated section.

I have a 799, and have only bothered with the insulated block once or twice. I also have a 759A with this feature, and have never hooked it up.

American Flyer Talking Station 755 operation question
Posted by Sturgeon-Phish on Saturday, April 9, 2005 8:30 PM
I wired the talking station onto the layout today and it is working well except for one thing and it may be where I'm not understanding the station's basic operation. It is my understanding that after the recording has played the section of track isolated with fiber pins becomes live via the white wire making up the base rail and the train takes off. Well, the section stays dead even after the sequence is complete. I do have continunity from the cam to the isolated section. Any help on the sequence would help.
Thanks
Jim
