Can you please give us an update on how the Atlas O GP60 sounds.

Atlas is making more GP60 Locomotives.

You could also tell us about how you like the operation of the RoadRailer Trailers by Bowser.

Well, the SD50 sounds, if they are the same or similar to the sound in the old Lionel SD50 (nonscale version) then they are real close, depending on the horn sound they are using now. I havent heard the newer Lionel scale SD50 sounds. The GP60's on the NS were only upgraded GP50's in the basic sense. More HP, bigger main generator, bigger traction motors. Basicly a hot rod 4 axle unit. They got them for the lightweight Triple Crown trains. I worked for the NS during the summer of 98 as a conductor, working triple crowns on a regular basis, then were the roughest riding units around, but they would out accelerate anything. I miss riding those units, the 5 chime horn sounded so nice running 60mph thru the wabash river valley between peru and logensport IN. NS 254 Clear east end of Danes Pass Out Mike

I have limited my engine purchases to certain road names as a way to control my addiction. NS isn't one of the road names on the list. If it was, I am sure I would be ordering one or maybe both paint schemes. These are really sharp looking engines.

LUCKY DOG!!!!! [:(] Wish I could afford one. Got NS engines and just got three NS Lionel hopper cars today. Waiting for 2 MTH NS's to come. Been on order for over one year. Told "Miss Edna" I wanted to give up on them. She told me, "No." If she had said, "Yes." I would have bought 2 Lionels. Let us know how it does.

Just ordered an Atlas NS GP60

I just ordered myself a NS GP60 that is made by Atlas, powered with full TMCC. I was curious if anybody else has one of these units, and how they like or dislike it. The review in CTT looks great, even though I am not a Santa Fe modeler. I plan to do a nice Triple Crown train for it to pull. I can remember railfanning the Triple Crown trains running thru Indiana on the old Wabash line from Peru all the way west to Delphi, road follows the track closely along that stretch and the 7100's were the normal power for them back then. 1 GP60 and about 50-75 trailers. They had no problem maintaining 60mph!! Cheers Mike
