Are railsound boards interchangable?

For example does a railsounds 4.0 sound board fit in a loco that previously had a railsounds 2.0 board?

Do they all fit in the Digital Dynamics and the Train America TMCC boards that accept sound?

You'd need to upgrade them if not all the same thing... ie- RS2.5, RS4.0, RS5.0
