Jim, I put 8 drops in. That seems to be the perfect amount. I LOVE smoke, when I got my 2026 last friday, I converted the smoke unit. It smokes even more than that 4-4-2.

nice photos!

I was going to post some but when I installed the newest Turbo Tax, it somehow deleted the Panasonic 330X digital camera's drivers. They quit making my model some time ago and Panasonic doesn't have the drivers so I'm searching for some to get my camera back up to speed.

On the run!

In a few weeks I will maybe have a few pictures of my converted 2026.

Smokes much better than a pill heater.

Nice smoke! Is it coming out of the steam chests too? I tried the Megasteam in my 4-4-2 and found that the Lionel fluid lasts longer and produces denser smoke. The Megasteam was dying out after only a few minutes and never produces thick, dense smoke. How many drops do you put in to make it smoke that way? Any alterations done to that loco? It looks like your train is running in an attic. Does toy train smoke show up more clearly at lower temps?

Trying to add photos of my mesa and hills. Hope this works better, Tim
This one used Lifelike's Mountain Paper - I was less than impressed with this stuff when I followed its instructions but I must admit it holds its shape well. It covers a series of boxes that I cut out.

This one shows a small mountain / hill that I made out of a wine box and it's cardboard inserts along with some cardboard flats against the backdrop. The Lionelosi Special sits at the station in the foreground.

The is just an overview of the layout looking 'west' from about half-way.

The new SHAY looks and sounds and runs GREAT. Can't wait till YORK to get some of that MEGA SMOKE (can't find it around here) then really see or not see it run?

Another shot from my Christmas layout. I scratchbuilt the curved tresle.

The lighted Lionel buildboard was a gift from my nephew: hard to read but it says "welcome to Waltville, population 1".

After reading the post last week about the guy that hides all his trains at his mothers, I just had to share what my wife (art major) of 25 yrs. worked on on her days off last week.
She finished the plaster and painted the mountain. She almost finished the backdrop painting around the walls, about 6 ft to go....

This is the mountain that she built from scratch.

And finally here is a Williams Dash-9 that she bought me for Christmas.
Payback will be in a few weeks in the form of hauling manure, garden tilling, erecting the greenhouse etc. for her garden. Thats ok, we both get what we want that way.........Tim

Yard switchers are a necessary part of railyards and I'm guessing most of you use the diesel powered type; however, Spanky and Tom prefer those that have these 4 attributes:
