My C-420 does not smoke.
I can hear the fan spinning but no smoke comes out.
Can anyone help me?

Hi,

1) Make sure the smoke switch on the underside of the locomotive is set to on.

2) Make sure the engines smoke generator is primed with 35-40 drops of smoke fluid. If you'r operating in conventional mode, you may not see much smoke production at lower voltages, try running at higher voltages to get the smoke started.

3) If the locomotive has been running with no smoke fluid, the generator may be damaged and need replacement. Lionel specifies that the smoke generator switch be turned to the off position when not operating to prevent damage to the smoke generator. If the generator is damaged, a Lionel Service Station can make the repair.

Hi Adrian,

You will need to check with a Lionel Service Station for pricing to replace the unit. The work may still be covered under the warenty. Again, you would need to check with your a Lionel Service Station. You can also contact Lionel Directly.
