NMRA DATA SHEETS
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 11, 2005 4:06 PM
I'm on roll, well maybe it's a doughnut, not sure. Anyway, if'n I didn't offend everybody about the electric motor question here's another: I have a dark blue binder with a bunch of pages and it's called NMRA data sheets. It has lots of info in it about what else model railroading and prototypical sizes for various parts of real railroads so you can make everything modeled just perfectly. Now I run my train on the floor right now and take it up when the wife gets tired of it being in the way, but does anybody use this kind of manual and of course the question is: what's it worth? I surely don't need it but I'm sure someone out there is saving their pennies and nickels so that one day they might be able to purchase one cause their ultimate goal is to make that depot sign prototypically correct and I'd be glad to unload it. john

Currently they are available only on CD for $19.95 for members only. Probably be in the $50 range for the printed ones when they are available again. In your case the question is do you have the latest printed one or do you have an earlier edition? Also, do you have all the data sheets? They used to be included as they were produced or updated in the NMRA Bulletin. At one time they were divided into 3 databooks called databook 1, databook 2, and databook 3 which could be bought separately. Assuming you have all the sheets in the latest version and the set is in good condition I would think around $20 would be a fair price range. I think they are useful, I still use mine.
Enjoy

I looked at it again. It's separated into three sections, each one being a "book", so I have all three books. Copyright date is 1973. It appears that all the pages are there since it is in excellent shape. John
