Help with a 671RR
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 6, 2005 9:02 AM
I have a 671RR that won't run. When I got it the light would work but nothing more. Then the light went out. When I opened it up, the e-unit drum was broken and siting slanted in the e-unit. I replaced the drum, cleaned the armature, brushes and motor. Now, the light works but the motor does not move. Ant suggestions?

Are you sure you repaired the e-unit correctly? Put the frame on the track without the top and cycle the e-unit while you are watching it. Is the drum turning a notch with each on/off cycle? Does the motor hum?

It is very easy to bend the e-unit brushes when taking it apart and very tricky to get them back into the correct shapes and positions when putting it back together. So, even if the drum turns, the brushes may not be making proper contact with it.
