I heard that Coke removes everything. :-)

Really, tho, the experts are on CTT's sister site, "Trains" (see index)

Rusted/Frozen pandrol clips
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, March 5, 2005 11:37 PM
Hello everybody,
I just joined today. I want to see if this site can help me with some of the real "Rail Road challenges/Problems".
Can anyone suggest a device, operable with a maximum gang size of two people, that can remove series "e" type of Pandrol Clips attached to concrete tie bars. Typically, over a long period of time, these clips get stuck real bad in the inserts. During normal maintainace works, if they are ever needed to be removed, they just wont budge, even with severe hammering. Any further hammering only fractures the concrete Tie bar.
Is there any way to dislodge the rust and the muck, using chemicals, microwave, vibrations, etc, without any damge to the concrete tie bar itself.
Thanks.
OM
