I need to put a few cactus plants on my layout to keep the cats off.

Really? I guess his lighting must be appropriate too. Sounds interesting - sort of like an indoor garden railway with bonsai or other small plants.

CTT ran an article on Neil Young's layout years ago. Not only does he have a live plants, there is a misting system to water the layout!
