I've not heard of the Yahoo S-trains, I may check it out. Can't have too much info! I'm in the process of building my layout now. As I said, I'm working on the mural now. I've been studying landscape / tree painiting and will try my hand at it this coming weekend. I'm painting some plasticville people now. My plan is to reproduce a 5x9 layout that was on an AF flyer. I have the cattle loader, drum loader, water tower, 752 & 785 coalers, talking station, on rubber roadbed and "several" post war steamers, cars. Lots of good info here! Thanks for the warm welcome.

Jim, [#welcome][#welcome] ask questions, and have a great time. When do you hope to have your layout going by ?

Stop by the coffee shop and have a cup, and a chat.

Not to run anyone off--you can't have too many sources of information and chitchat, can you--but you do know about the Yahoo S-Trains group, right? There are about 900 AF/other S gauge enthusiasts there. Very active group.

Texusss got invaded a while back by a marauding Rebel from NC who thought he was north of the Mason-Dixon line and pretty much wiped us out. Roy, Bob, and I and a few others are the only ones left now. I'd suggest you OHIO boyz reinforce your border patrols or you might suffer the same fate! Wear helmets!
Small Layouts are cool! Low post counts are even more cool! NO GRITS in my pot!!!

Welcome Sturgeon-Phish [#welcome]

I think there are so many snoHIon's on this forum because they don't have train shows to go to!

I think this makes 12 Buckeyes on the forum and a southern one to boot! For a state that never seems to have the big train shows like the east, we seem to be doing awfully darn well here on the forum.

Hello,
Stumbled onto this site and joined right up. My focus is American Flyer postwar. I am currently converting a spare bedroom into a TRAIN ROOM / bedroom. I am painting the mural technique in Nov.(?) Classic Toy Train mag. on the walls now and will be building a 5x9 classic layout. I've been collecting AF for about 4 years am I am totally hooked on AF. Looking forward to reading learning and sharing more about toy trains. Especially American Flyer!!!!
