I'm planning to draw a picture of the wiring schematic, so if you'd like me to e-mail you a copy, let me know.[:)]
Dave F,
I would appreciate it if you would send me the schematic.
Thanks.

Check that you have the spring contacts in properly and not upside down. With the wire entry slot at the bottom the wire contact for the top spring, the one next to the buttons, is in the center bottom position. thenext one is on the right, the next on the left, and the last on the right again. Also note there are three different size spacers. The first two are of a medium thickness, the mext is thin, and the last is thick brown. On the unload side don't forget the spacer between the second and third springs. These should not touch each other when the unload button is pushed.

Be carefull when rewiring and adjusting the controllers, UCS and RCS/027 controllers are connected differently

Many thanks. I'm looking forward to your suggestions.

Roy Kruczek reported a way to operate RCS/UCS sections with a DPDT momentary switch, like this one -

- in the August 1991 issue of Classic Toy Trains. I'm planning to draw a picture of the wiring schematic, so if you'd like me to e-mail you a copy, let me know.[:)]

Sometimes when using the remote control track sets, the "Uncouple" and / or "Unload" functions do not work. This includes overheating the coupler coil and it starts to smoke! This has happened to me even with brand new sets. I have found that it is never the fault of the track section - it is always the controller. I mess around with the "pile-up" switch contact spring sections to get the "pile-up" to deflect and contact each other when depressing the "Uncouple" and "Unload" buttons exactly as shown on the diagram in the "Complete Service Manual for Lionel Trains". If it is not exactly like the diagram, funny things happen.
Has anyone out there had the same problem and has some tips on this problem and adjusting the "pile-up" switch contact spring sections? I'm also interested in maybe replacing the controller with a more reliable unit. Has anyone designed such a unit not relying on this "pile-up" design?
Many thanks. I'm looking forward to your suggestions.
