Can anyone tell me what I have, lots of trains and track have had for over 30 years

Measure the distance between the outside rails and tell us the dimension. Also tell us whether there are 2 or 3 rails on the track.

gonfourbroke, First let me welcome you to the forum. Once you can give us a bit more information I'm sure there will be someone to lead you in the right direction.

The first question to answer is scale, O-gauge, also O-27, is about a 1/4" = 1 ft., HO is apprx. 1/2 that size. Assuming they are O or O-27 there is a strong probability they are Lionel, if so, for 30 yr. old items there are usually numbers on the sides of the engine(s) and cars that are also the model numbers. If you can determin manufacturer and the numbers we can supply information. If they are HO you can try over on the Model Railroads forum.

I have had all of these trains and cars for over 30 years now, lots of old transformers and track, some are in good condition and some are not but I dont even know what scale any of this is...any help would be greatly appriciated. If anyone can help me with this i would be grateful and I can send pic as I tryed to insert them and it wont let me.
