Special run boxcars?

A couple of years ago I ran across someone via the internet who had a run of Knott's Berry Farm boxcars custom printed for a club event. These were standard gauge, may have been Lionel, and they were exact duplicates of the old HO Athern Knott's cars that were sold in the 1960's. He had a few extra he was offering for sale, but I had other obligations at the time and couldn't buy one. Now, I've been searching for months and can't find any information or references to ANY special-run cars and I'm beginning to think my mind is playing tricks on me. I no longer have any address for this person or his club - although it's probably somewhere in Southern California. Does anyone know anything about these Knott's boxcars??
