I used some clay and made my own grade crossings. Painted the clay black and then sprinkled on some HO ballast for texture. Looks like an asphalt roadway crossing the tracks.[:)]

I haven't made one but MTH Real Trax has a ready made grade crossing, item Number: 40-1009.
