K-Line Fair Day

Anyone attend the K-LIne Fair Day in Elizabeth, New Jersey?
The Layouts look great and they are running all K-Line engines. The Lakawana F-3's and the Shays look great on the layouts. There are also vendors selling a lot of rolling stock at great prices, cast hoppers for $25.00 and engines for good prices.

Hmmmm, maybe it's just me, but in my way of thinking if die-cast hoppers are priced at 50% off the normal list at a "manufacturer" show, along with other great bargains, it says one of several things. But to me it mostly says the stuff is not selling well enough at the normal prices.

Of course, the large mailorder advertisements that also feature products from other importers available at up to 50% off list also say the same thing. To me, it's no wonder smaller more localized dealers decline to stock as much inventory or order as much future product since their wholesale price is nowhere near 50% off. Maybe if it was, they would. Of course, if the sale price is 50% off, that means someone is taking a bath (doubtful), or someone got the product at even more than 50% off so that they can still make money with the half off price.

As the old saying goes, get 'em while they're hot! Or in this case, bargain priced.
