News 671-681-682 derailment.

Hello, I would like to first thank all that replied on the train derailment issue with the 671-681-682..What happen is I tried to recreate the wheel buy rebuilding my layout. I should have known lightning would never strike twice. The layout I had everything ran the rails and switches fine 1920-2000 more than 100 trains.(4 at once of course, sweet).Long story short the new lionel 072 switches #5166-5165 will not pass a 671-681-682. I did check the gauge and the trucks on all 5 I tested. The gauge is correct. They all derail every time. I hope someone with the same problem can confirm this. The trains run fine on the switches I bought in 2000. The new switches have the large Lionel logo on the silver plate. It appears the swivel rail has just a bit more taper in it. This cause the wheels to wedge between the outside rail and swivel rail before the transfer is complete. I hope this info will help others. The problem for me is over the trains will have to stay on my inside loop with old switches. I hope the 2340 will pass through the switches.(That would push me over the edge if it didn't) not really. Thanks for all your help and input Steve Prysok.
