I'm Signing Off
Posted by Flintlock76 on Thursday, May 23, 2024 7:04 PM

For now anyway.  It took me eight tries to get to a topic I was interested in on the "Trains" Forum and then I couldn't get OUT without exiting the website completely.  My patience with this fiasco of a Forum is over. I've never been one for banging my head on a wall because it feels good when it stops.

Let me add I don't have any problems with ANY other website I visit.

I might be back in a week or so to see if there's been any improvements.  If any of you want to chat privately you can find my e-mail in my Profile section.

See you later.

I do not fore see any improvement for some time. Kalmbach went with cheapest host they could find for the forums, and it shows and did from the beginning. once Firecrown gets settled in and start looking at somethings they can improve they will, but until then don't hold your breath.

I came back just to say hello to Ellie.  I see the site's STILL a mess.  Ho-hum.

OK, it SEEMS a bit more useable this morning but still as slow as Christmas coming.

(Don't you love that phrase?)

Anyway, I left a similar sign-off topic on the "Trains" Forum but it disappeared!  Obviously someone was offended or it sparked some nasty comments and exchanges!  I think I'll stick around here for now.

Just an update and with a well-deserved tip of the hat to who's running the Forums.

I'm having NO problems with accessing the Forums now and especially this one, maybe some VERY slight delays but aside from that it's working just fine!

Thanks so much to whoever fixed the problems!  Bow

Coming on here is a pleasure again!  I wish we'd get some more people involved but maybe that will come with time.

Coming on here is a pleasure again!  I wish we'd get some more people involved but maybe that will come with time.

At one time we use to have between 3 and 5 pages of post in the coffee shop. There was ( from what I understand ) a group talking behind peoples back and causing trouble. There is one who still blames me some that was part of that, but I wasn't any part of it. Bob Keller had no choice other than to shut the forum down for a week I believe, and with that we lost more than 50% of the normal people who use to post here. We lost some real good people during that. This forum has gotten a few here and there  but we are nowhere near where we were. It's a shame. This use to be a great forum.

C'mon back! The forum has been overhouled.

Still can't access my messages (which by now are ancient) or my user control panel.
