Lionel Irvington Madison car mismatched lettering?

I just picked up a Lionel Irvington Madison car in shockingly amazing condition from Trainz. I noticed afterwards that "Irvington" is written in the normal sans serif font on one side but the other side is written in a serif font much like "Madison" is written on those cars. Is this a known Lionel factory error? Could this be a later factory repaint? Did I get scammed and purchase a car someone restored on their own? The color on the car matches the real factory color. This would be 1946-1948 variation as it has no silhouettes and the exposed wires on the underside. I appreciate your input!
