Sunday Photo Fun - 1/21/24
Posted by fifedog on Sunday, January 21, 2024 6:43 AM

The holidays are all behind us now, and we're all riding the POLAR VORTEX at the moment. So here's what the fam gave me this year...

My lovely wife gave me this beautiful pair of American Flyer C&O PA's (6-48102). She got them from Trainz, and they appear to have never been run. I avoided the temptation to run them, before disassembling them and removing the old lubrication (30+ years), and adding new grease and oil. Located right behind them is the AF C&O reefer #7783 (2219361), that the Middle Princess gave me.

The Oldest Princess gave me the AF C&O LCL boxcar #12701 (6-48347), and bringing up the markers is as AF C&O caboose (6-48743), that I received from the Youngest Princess.

Very nice fife.  Your S gauge roster is growing.

I don't remember if I have posted these here yet.

This year I played St Nicholas for the Santa Pizza Train on the Wisconsin Great Northern in Trego Wisconsin.  I had my own Santa car.

Thanks for starting this thread again fife.

Flint - Thanks. I think Lionel may have used the C&O Color Guide book (Morning Sun) for reference, because those cars have the same numerals and markings. Either way, they turned out nice.

A good possibility but I'll tell you what, Morning Sun's the "Gold Standard" as far as color rail books go.  I've got 24 of them and have never been disappointed in the quality of any of them.

I've also heard Morning Sun's going out of the print book business so if you're looking for any titles now's the time to grab 'em before it's too late.
