If you would like to discuss items and not worry about getting zapped, go to modeltrainjournal.com.
There is even a special place to discuss the infamous lawsuit and say what you want.
There are some swear words etc but it is a good site to talk about contraversal things and get by with it.
So far I have not found that it sells any product that could taint the discussins to protect a mags ads.
Not allot of topics yet but an excellent artlcle on the lawsuit. Especially how mth played dirty pool with lionel.
These are my feelings only and if it gets zapped too bad. Dave

A lot of the people on the www.modeltrainjournal.com forum are refugees from the OGR forum. They found their new home after OGR's attempt to impose an $18.00 forum user's fee and the unreasonable censorship and arrogance that continues today. There is some adult humor and nonsense, but overall it's a just a bunch of good ol train nuts having some fun. Bill the moderator isn't a control freak and will generally let anything be posted unless something really gets out of line. MTJ is also a supporter of CTT and has a subscription link on its website.

Several of it's member post over here and vise versa. This forum has it place and I love the adult humor side of it.

Went there today and it looks like an interesting site. The OGR paranoia on censorhip gets to be a little too much, though.

It doesn't get much better than "The Coffee Pot" in the morning here and "The Club Car Lounge" in the evening over there...I often wonder if Casey Jones is my brother. HA! I also think HiRail Jon is a cousin of mine - great humor!
Small Layouts are cool! Low post counts are even more cool! NO GRITS in my pot!!!

I think there were instructions [and most folks on this forum agreed] not to discuss the "cons" of other forums on this forum and "visa versa".

Chief isn't that getting just a tad stiff on what we can say. If that is true then we are approaching the board of the elite only and that is no fun.
All we are doing is anounching another board, should be no big deal.
This is my opinion for what it is worth.
Dave.

Dave, you did not name the "other forum" but a couple did in criticism. It may be true but not to be discussed here. The new forum is pretty good. Just slow until it catches on [I'm sure].

Looks like BigBoy is on vacation so maybe he's the substitute forum cop.

after getting reprimanded for not having a suitable avatar, I had a choice of posting my photo or having none. I hope my photo is acceptable:

LOL, that's a good one Frank! Actually, that picture might be allowed as an avatar since the "other forum" moderator has personality traits similar to those of Mr Nixon.
