Thanks for the information. It filled some holes.

According to the Lionel site, it was "most recently" offered in 2011:
http://www.lionel.com/products/west-side-lumber-legacy-2-truck-shay-locomotive-5-6-11235
Pages 12-13 of that catalog can be found here: http://www.lionel.com/catalogs
I have this feeling that it might have been offered originally a year or 2 before that, maybe 2009-ish? Unfortunately the Lionel site doesn't have the catalogs before 2011 on-line anymore.
Sadly the manual link on the page is broken, so I can't be any help with that.
I do recall (because it was bad enough that I remember not accepting my pre-order) that the first time Lionel offered the 2 truck Shays, there was a somewhat widespread issue with the units being wrapped in tissue paper at the factory before the paint had fully cured. As a result, some of the tissue paper stuck to the models and left noticeable marks on the finish even once the paper was removed. I believe Lionel took all of the engines with this problem back and made an attempt to clean them up, but some (such as mine) still had visible evidence even after they tried to do so (they were not of course actually repainted).
My point of the above story being, if you are a person looking for a pristine finish on the model, it's possible this is something to be aware of and look out for. It may or may not be evident from on-line still photos, it could be something you would only notice in person as the model is hit with different angles of a light source.

Can anyone assist me with locating a manual for the above engine. My internet search has turned up nothing. Also, when was the engine produced by Lionel. I know Lionel used the K Line tooling for the engine. Did they make any other changes?
Thanks for any help.
