Decals are getting tough but here's some sources that might help.
https://www.lbrenterprisesllc.com/ He specializes in restoration decals.
https://protocraft.com/ Mostly boxcar and rolling stock decals but they'll work if you want to fudge things a bit.
There's this source for dry transfer lettering for pre-and-post war Lionels, American Flyer and Ives trains:

And if you've got a printer you can always "roll your own" with decal stock.
I used Microscale O scale 48-41NYC Diesels FA&FB unit decals and adapted them to the Trainmaster body

Looks great! A scary thought - if NYC had really had TrainMasters, they would have run them (very) long hood forward!
