It will work but I would use the 18 ohm for better smoke at slower speeds. you will need the fiberglass cover and have some of the old wick passing thru it back into the bottom to wick up the fliud. if it is the later close bottom style just wrap the wick around the element and have it sit about half-way down.
Has anyone tried using the lionel 28 ohm heating element in an american flyer
engine instead of using the nichrome wire to produce smoke?
