An ebay listing shows a figure "Peg Leg Pete" from American Flyer. The fellow has a peg leg and is holding what looks like a round RR sign. Looks about 1.5 in. tall.
First one I've seen.
Would you know if this belonged to a set or was part of a Flyer accessory?

I did some searching and found this video on YouTube. Peg-Leg Pete may very well have come from an accessory. The close-up up Pete is around the 1:40 mark.
There's a grim bit of history here. Sometimes if a railroad trainman was badly injured to the point he couldn't work trains anymore the 'road would find him a job as a crossing guard or at something else not physically taxing he was still capable of doing.
