The late red roof car doesn't have the candy bar but it's still a good little boxcar.  I have the 1679 with the peacock (some say turquoise) roof.

Thanks for the information Becky!  It'll come in handy!

By the way, my set has the box couplers.  Coupling them was easy, getting them uncoupled took a bit of puzzling, but I figured it out.

The Ives derived cars are a good size match for your loco.

The early 1690 and 1691 passenger and observation cars have "vermillion"  bodies and brown roofs.  Later cars had a more cheerful red body with a matching roof.

The uncataloged 1692 and 93 passenger cars are often described as "blue" but all the ones I've come across look green to me.  All 3 sets will go great we with the early cars being available with both Lionel or Ives Lines markings.

The Baby Ruth car is the 1679 with latch couplers or the 2679 with box couplers.

next thing you know you're plopping down a stack of Benjamins for a 400E Blue Comet set!

Don't I wish!  Everytime I see one at a show it takes my breath away!

However, I'm going to start looking for some passenger cars for that 259E.  I've got a boxcar but what I'd REALLY love to find is the Baby Ruth boxcar with the sliced candy bar on it.  Maybe at York, and if the price isn't too extortionate.

Here's a 30 second video I shot of a Christmas set-up on the dining room table with my 259E set outboard and my N Gauge "State of Maine Potatoes" spud run inboard.

Here goes...

Eureka!  This could open up a whole new world!  We'll see!
