You're lit!
Well that's cool! A minor disappointment though, I was expecting an antique "ooo-GAH ooo-GAH!" horn instead of a modern "HONK!" horn. It's OK, geese DO go HONK instead of ooo-GAH!
Yes kind of sounds like a diesel horn !
It should sound like THIS:

Well I have a General that sounds like an F unit!
Same me, different spelling!
Almost like a dive klaxon on a submarine!

Exactly!
Time for a submarine musical interlude...

Interesting. About 20 years ago I bought a Lionel "SteamSounds" tender, it made the requisite whooshing steam noises but when I pushed the whistle button a sound like an air horn came out! Just like a diesel!
Well, I tried to rationalize it by saying "OK, it's like an SP Daylight or an NYC Niagara," but that didn't wash. I gave it to a nephew who didn't care!
I liked that show ,and the flying submarine was cool!
Why DRG paint since the Galloping Geese were on the Rio Grande Southern?
Yes it has a fictional paint scheme...MTH did make an all silver version which is closer to the mark.
Thanks. It is a great looking unit! Enjoy.
Yes very cool!
I really enjoy the Galloping Goose, I have 2 of the silver #5 units. I purchased one and a friend of mine sent me the one he had. He was down sizing his collection and thought I needed his. (I operated the full size GG #3 at Knotts Berry Farm here in California for 3 years.) On one trip I made with #3, was coming back to the depot, and going around the last curve, I noticed out the accordian door on the right side, the hub nut on the right front wheel passed me!
But, it was lots of fun explaining the history of the vehicle to all the visitors.
Don
Interesting unit that was cobbled together to provide passenger and light cargo service!
